We caught up with one of the inspirations for the Nike 24×24 Campaign, Iva Burkertová, to discuss her personal passions, her relationship with Nike and what its like to shoot with DMB Photographer Finn Taylor! 

So tell us a bit about yourself….

I am always seeking balance in extreme contrasts, constantly colliding my two biggest passions, extreme sports and modern urban life. Through my collections I call for personal freedom and I encourage people to go beyond their limits, as I believe that great things never came from comfort zones. For me life is a venture, an erratic journey, that always pushes you forward, beyond your limits, to experience something new. You grow and, of course, you remember. That’s what forms you, your personality and everything you do.

You are Founder and Creative Director for fashion label Odivi, tell us a bit about the brand?

Odivi started as a streetwear brand, however, over time it developed into a premium high fashion brand that remains true to its roots. Our designs combine functional clothing with high standard of aesthetic to provide a premium quality product balancing on the edge of streetwear and high fashion. We aim for our products to be stylish and adaptable to the wearers personality,  complying with their current pace of life and fulfilling the needs of a modern-age customer.

You recently shot the 24×24 Campaign for Nike, tell us about your relationship with them and what drew you to the project?

Collaborations play a key role in everything we do at ODIVI. They help us to broaden our horizons and expand our own limits. That’s how to stay relevant and provide fulfilment through new experiences. We want to constantly challenge ourselves and push the boundaries of an ordinary fashion brand. Through our collections we want to encourage people to go beyond their limits and empower them in everything what they do. And that’s what I guess is common with Nike.

Tell us about the shoot itself…

It was very inspiring. I am usually working in small team with bunch of girls so it was refreshing! I would go for it again for sure. Finn was on the same wave as me – it was pure fun. 

Whats next for you?

We are preparing a collection that should be more persistent and essential, not just temporary and trendy. I want to connect with other interesting personalities and artists and evolve with their stories and inputs. I want to be able to travel with this collection even more. And connect what I do with what I love. Also I can see myself in this moment managing a travel agency, practising yoga, learning to surf and building sustainable cabins on cliffs at the ocean or in the mountains. So we’ll see…
