Emily Maye bio
Emily Maye grew up in California with a strong love of Cinema. She attended both the University of Southern California School of Cinema Television and Columbia University with a screenwriting degree and her passion for narrative is evident in her photography. Focusing primarily on sports figures and the culture that surrounds them, Emily’s eye for the unexpected moment often portrays a subtle story and her work has gotten the attention of the major sports brands and editorial publications.
Emily shoots extensively in both the US and Europe. Working consistently with brands such as Rapha and Tracksmith, alongside the major sports brands, Emily has carved out a unique space from which to tell stories. She has shot for Nike, Puma, Adidas, ESPN, and Victory Journal and has shot with top athletes and Olympic medalists Usain Bolt, Bradley Wiggins, Angelique Kerber, Mutaz Barshim, Meb Keflezighi, Fabian Cancellara, and Daryl Homer. For three seasons, Emily was embedded with professional cycling team, Trek Factory Racing, documenting life inside the team from training camp to the Tour de France.
Her authentic approach moves refreshingly away from the finish line to the quieter spaces where athletes make their mark – in their training, at home and in the moments of preparation before the match. Now as Emily moves more and more into filmmaking she is taking her passion for sports culture back to her love of cinema, where it all started.
