Bleus, Cahier #13, published in 1994 is a portfolio of selected photographs from Bruce Gilden’s project documenting the traditional working world in the North of France, remnant of a historical past swept away by modern technology.
High performance machines are gradually replacing men, the bell tolls the end of the era of the worker-hero. In the future, the choice is to adjust to the new technology or be excluded from the working world.
